Peggy Ducharme kicks off her Election Campaign with a Corn Roast held at the Sunset Golf Club
Peggy Ducharme, candidate for Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh township council, kicked off her campaign on Sunday, August 23 at the local Sunset Golf Club, where she told the enthusiastic crowd that, "My vision for ACW is centered on creating a balanced environment where growth and essential services go hand-in-hand with fiscal responsibility."
Peggy Ducharme will bring to the council table almost 30 years of experience that includes economic development, strategic planning, financial and project management, business support and community engagement – all within the municipal realm.

Peggy Ducharme is no stranger to small towns. She grew up in Preston before it was amalgamated to Cambridge. Furthermore, her career in the Nation's Capital aligned with both urban and rural municipalities.
"Throughout my career, I worked with both urban and rural community leaders. I know, and understand both demographics, not just urban cities, but also small towns and rural areas – thanks to my involvement with Ontario downtowns and the International Downtown Association. Ottawa also had several rural BIAs that I worked with on the Council of Ottawa BIAs.
Peggy Ducharme said her life and work experiences will bring a new, fresh perspective to council built on numerous years of municipal experience, BOTH from within the system, and as a community advocate.

If Peggy's last name rings a bell, it is because her husband, David Ducharme's family arrived in Huron County in the 1840s. His great great grandparents are buried in St. Peter’s Church cemetery in St. Joseph. There are many, many Ducharmes up and down Hwy 21 who are all descendants of two brothers from then.
"We chose this area to live because this place matters to us."
